According to news reports,

The Brazoria County Sheriff's Office said authorities responded to CR 144 near CR 712c for a vehicle accident on December 7, 2012 around 11:30 p.m.

When officials arrived at the scene, deputies found a disabled Ford F-250 pickup truck was being pushed down the road by David Barajas and his two young sons with the mother and two small children were inside.

Authorities said that a 2000 Chevrolet Malibu passenger car crashed into the rear of the pickup. David Barajas suffered non-life threatening injuries while one of his sons, 12-year-old David Barajas died at the scene. The other son, 11-year-old Caleb Barajas was airlifted to a hospital where he later died.

The driver of the passenger car, 20-year-old Jose Banda, which crashed into the family's pickup truck was found with a single gunshot wound to the head. He was also airlifted to a hospital where he later died.

“I’m not going to be the same no more because he was everything in this house for me,” said Jose’s mother, Maria Banda. “He was my life.”

Officials said Banda was intoxicated at the time of the crash. His Blood Alcohol Concentration was .175.

“It wasn’t like it was planned,” said Jose’s brother, Antonio Rodriguez. “Those boys were right there and it was something that happened. It’s not like he was going to run. He was willing to do the time.”

Investigators said no weapons were recovered at the scene. They interviewed several witnesses who were present at the scene of the accident. Those witnesses said David Barajas was observed walking away from the scene of the accident, towards his home shortly after the crash. Those witnesses also reported seeing David Barajas return to the scene and approach Jose Banda's car when the gunshots were fired.

Brazoria County investigators executed a search warrant at the Barajas’ home. Inside the residence, they found a handgun holster and ammunition, but a gun was not found.

David Barajas has been arrested for the murder of Jose Banda. His bond was set at $450,000.

Authorities say 30-year-old nurse Verna McClain admitted she shot a young mother and abducted her newborn in a Houston suburb Tuesday afternoon. McClain is charged with capital murder in the shooting death of Kala Marie Golden in Spring, Texas.

Witnesses say McClain repeatedly shot Golden and drove away with her 3-day-old son, Keegan Schuchardt. According to the arrest record, McClain admitted to shooting Golden and taking Keegan to her home in Harris County. The warrant says Keegan was then found there late Tuesday night.
McClain is being held without bail. Montgomery County District Attorney Brett Ligon says McClain's statement to investigators indicates that she shot the mother as part of a wider plan to kidnap any child and that Golden was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time. "There were statements as indicated in the arrest record that were made by Ms. McClain that led us to believe that, in fact, this was an intentional act on her part," Ligon said. "Not that Ms. Golden was targeted specifically, but that this was part of a plan to kidnap a child." He made no mention of a man whom witnesses said they saw in the blood-splattered Lexus.
Investigators said the sister told them that in the days before the abduction, McClain had spoken to her about adopting a baby soon.

Golden was leaving the pediatric center after a checkup with her son around 2 p.m. when she and a woman (presumably McClain) in a Lexus parked next to her pickup truck began to argue, Montgomery County Sheriff's Lt. Dan Norris said. Witnesses said the woman repeatedly shot Golden, took the infant and sped away, hitting the dying mother as she tried to reach into the Lexus screaming, "My baby!" Norris said. Witnesses also reported hearing as many as seven gunshots and said a man was also in the sky blue or light green Lexus, which was blood-stained on the driver's side, Norris said.

Meanwhile, Golden's mother, Linda Golden, told the Associated Press Tuesday that she had been baby-sitting another of Kala's sons when someone at the scene called her using her daughter's cellphone. She rushed to the clinic but was unable to see her daughter because paramedics were trying to save her. Linda Golden said her daughter died "trying to save her baby."

Phillip Don Oliver, a 25-year-old Houston, TX man, has been jailed after he allegedly forced another man to have sex with his own mother-in-law while his wife watched.

According to police, Oliver approached a male victim outside of his apartment, pointed a handgun at him and ordered him inside the apartment.Once inside, Oliver ordered the man, his wife and his mother-in-law to gather inside a bathroom. All three were then ordered to undress.

Investigators say Oliver then ordered the man to kneel on the bathroom floor and place his head into the toilet bowl while Oliver repeatedly flushed it. Oliver then placed the barrel of the gun into the man's rectum, removed it, and then forced the barrel into the wife's mouth.

Oliver then pointed the gun at the head of the couple's 6-month-old daughter and ordered the man to place his penis inside his mother-in-law's mouth. Fearing for his daughter's safety, the man complied. Oliver then ordered the mother-in-law to perform oral sex on her son-in-law while the wife watched.

The victims told police that Oliver demanded $200,000 from them, which was owed to a third person named Rico. The victims denied knowing anyone by the name Rico.

Detectives tracked Oliver down at a nearby apartment complex and took him into custody without incident. The victims were able to identify Oliver from an array of mugshot photographs.

Oliver was booked into jail and charged with aggravated assault and aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon. Bond has not yet been set in the case.

According to court records, Oliver was convicted of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in 2008.
